WHO ARE WE?
CANFORD PUBLISHING is an independent educational publishing company based in London and Muscat. We specialise in English language teaching materials that are aimed at the Arab World as well as the global market place.
The company was founded in 2014. The first publications, Start Writing and Start Writing Sentences, were designed to help Arab learners with the most difficult of the language skills – writing.
More recent publications are aimed at the global market as well as the Arab World.

FOUNDER
Richard Harrison is the founder and director of Canford Publishing. He is also an ELT author, teacher trainer and consultant. He is the author of many of Canford’s publications.
Richard Harrison has worked widely throughout the Middle East – in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and the UAE as well as Oman. In addition, he has worked for the British Council in Russia as ESP Consultant and also in Iran and Spain.
Most recently he was the head of the Foundation Programme in the German University of Technology in Oman (GUtech) until he left in 2013 to continuing writing and to establish Canford Publishing.
In addition to authoring books for Canford, Richard Harrison has written books for OUP (Headway Academic Skills), Pearson (Keep Writing and English Please), Garnet (Better Writing) and Macmillan.
AUTHORS
The well-known technical English coursebook – Interface: English for Technical Communication – was written by the widely respected academics Tom Hutchinson and the late Alan Waters. The course was recently updated by Canford Publishing. The other Canford books were all authored by Richard Harrison.
